Bahrain International Circuit

“The home of motorsport in the Middle East”

The track was conceived as an integral part of the objective of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, of increasing the awareness and profile of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Designed by Hermann Tilke, the German architect responsible for many international circuits. The first piece of ground was broken in December of 2002. The ‘keys’ to the circuit were handed over to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on March 17, 2004.

In less than a year-and-a-half and at a cost of $150 million, a world-class motorsport facility had risen out of the desert 30 kilometers south of Bahrain’s capital city, Manama, and BIC’s reputation has grown ever since.

FAQs

GENERAL

What is the show about?

The Bahrain International Motor Show is a biennial motoring show, which serves both as a large motor exhibition as well as an action-packed event for motoring enthusiasts.

To find out what there is in terms of action, click here.

Does it take place every year?

The BIMS takes place every two years.

Is the show like the F1?

The BIMS is certainly a very exciting and entertaining event for visitors, but it is very different from Formula One. Formula One is a world-famous, professional car race, whereby vehicles from a certain class compete against each other for a prize. The entertainment offered at Formula One events is an addition that serves to turn Formula One races into family events.

The BIMS is a world-class, comprehensive motoring exhibition and show – many different kinds of vehicles will be on display, including super cars, commercial vehicles, and motor bikes. This serves to boost the automobile and motoring industry while giving visitors the chance to be close to a ride they admire and take pictures of it. For more information about the exhibition, click here.

Additionally, the BIMS is a very dynamic and interactive event, with many different shows taking place and many activities for visitors to get involved in. For more about the action, click here.

Who is this show for?
